Location
We are situated 311 kms north east of Laverton and 255 kms south west
of Warburton off the Great Central Road (The Outback Highway) in the
Great Victoria Desert WA Our nearest neighbours are Cosmo Newberry Community
225 km south-west or, Kanpa 175 km north-east of us. (See Tourist
Map in Tourism section).
Tjukayirla Roadhouse takes it name from the Tjukayirla Rockholes which
are situated at the south-western end of the campground adjacent to
a Paine & Barclay survey marker which was placed by the surveyors
in the early 1930’s during the original survey of the route to Warburton.The
Zoo Breakaway, a good example of desert breakaway country, is a short
walk across the main road from the rockhole and is well worth the walk.
At times dingos, emus, kangaroos and camels as well as a large variety
of birds can be seen around the Roadhouse.
If there has been recent rain, take some time to walk around and see
the many different varieties of wildflowers there are.
ACCOMMODATION AVAILABLE:
- Twin share rooms with tea and coffee making facilities
- 2 Self contained units with 2 single beds with TV (without bathroom)
- 1 standard 4 bed bedroom with tea and coffee making facilities
- Caravan/Camping
- 3 x 2 single bed units with tea and coffee facilities
(Due to health Regulations animals are not permitted in rooms but are welcome outside on leash and under control at all times).
Showers are available at our modern amenities block and clothesline at the rear of the amenities.
Fuels : Diesel and Avgas and Unleaded fuels are available along with a range of oils
and lubricants. Last unleaded until Uluru.
Services: Tyre and other minor repairs including welding can be carried
out in the workshop.
A breakdown recovery and salvage service is available along with a transport service to Perth.
Basic food lines, ice, souvenirs and artefacts from the local people along with meals, takeaways, snack meals, hot and cold drinks, are available to the traveller as well as a small range of motor vehicle accessories.
At present electricity is available 24 hours.

An after hours service is available (until 8pm Central Standard Time), by going to the managers residence for camping and accommodation.
Should fuel be required outside of normal trading hours a fee of $20.00

The Roadhouse consists of a small shop
and artefacts room, take-a-way foods, soft drinks juices and a range
of other small groceries items are available.
Fuels : Diesel, Avgas (cars) and Avgas (planes).
Services: Mechanic on site. Tyre and other minor repairs included welding
can be carried out in the workshop.
Important note:
The Warakurna Roadhouse operates on Central Standard Time (CST) time
not Western Australian (WA), Northern Territory time (CST) is (1) one
and (1/2) half hours in front of WA time.

A range of Accommodation is available at Warburton Roadhouse:

There are several camping sites at $7 *
per person per night. The Camp kitchen has a fridge, stove and seating.
The Wood barbecue has some wood supplied. There are fire boxes in the
camp ground. There are two toilet facilities and one laundry. There
are two washing machines that cost $2 *
per load.

The Roadhouse is able to cater for coach groups and have enough beds for approximately 36 people. As well as accommodation, dinner and breakfast are available with prior arrangements. Meals are available but orders are to be made when booking rooms.
The roadhouse sells fresh fruit & veg, bread, drinks, ice, fuels, meat, basic grocery items and ice creams.
Anyone arriving after these times can come to the manager's house, which is located at the rear of the roadhouse, for accommodation and camping inquiries.

No shop or fuel sales are made outside of trading hours.
No pets allowed in the ground.
